By popular demand, Hunter Valley Paddlesports Club's Morpeth Twilight Series returns for 2025-26.

The 14 race series will be held (mostly) on alternate Wed evenings during the daylight savings period from 8 Oct.

Paddlers will complete 5.5km over 2 x 2.75km circuits.   

It's fine to start at any race during the series.

All paddlers are welcome to join, including paddlers new to racing. It's not necessary to have a racing boat - your recreational kayak will be fine. The race is handicapped so everyone has a chance to be first across the line!

Meet at Queens Wharf Park, Morpeth by 5:30pm for an 6pm start.

Paddlers are encouraged to make a $5 donation to HVPC each race.

PFDs are compulsory for all paddlers.

 

Registration Information

HVPC Members: 

Simply check in with Russell on arrival at each race.

Members of Paddle NSW/Paddle Australia affiliated clubs:

Show evidence of your PNSW/PA membership at the check-in desk the first time you participate. Your membership expiry date will be recorded and you will not need to show evidence again until the expiry date has elapsed. The best way to demonstrate membership with PNSW/PA is to log into JustGo on your phone. This can either be done on the day of your first Twilight Series race, or in in advance if you take a screenshot displaying your Club name and membership expiry date.

Non members:

Non Club members are welcome to get involved in the fun! To do so, prior to attending a race you will need to take out a free HVPC Trial Membership via Paddle Australia's JustGo platform (see below for step by step instructions). Trial Memberships can only be taken out once, but are valid for 30days so if you time it right, you will be able to paddle in two, consecutive Twilight Series races. Simply present evidence of your trial membership to Russell at the check in desk. 

How to take out a HVPC trial membership with Paddle Australia
  1. Go to https://paddleaustralia.justgo.com and the Paddle Australia Membership and Events Portal page will open, with a white Log In section on the right hand side of the screen.
  2. Under the 'New Member?' section at the bottom right-hand corner click on 'Sign Up'
  3. Enter your details and select 'Sign Up' again
  4. This will take you to an 'Agreement & Opt Ins' page for you to review relevent Paddle Australia policies. Click 'Accept and Continue' if you accept the terms
  5. This will take you to your 'Profile' page where you are able to select a Paddle Australia membership category. Click the purple section to '+ ADD Club Membership'
  6. You will then arrive on a page with a map showing clubs within 50km of your postcode.
    Either use the map to find Hunter Valley Paddlesports Club (Teralba) and click on it, or choose the “List” button and select Hunter Valley Paddlesports Club.
  7. You will then land on a page with tiles for the different types of club membership.
    Click on the third box titled “Trial Membership”. Answer the questions as they appear, review your Emergency Contact details and accept the Member Declaration before clicking the orange Finish button. 
  8. You will be asked to Confirm you wish to proceed, click on 'Yes, Proceed to Cart' and you will be taken to a checkout page.
  9. There is no charge for a HVPC Trial Membership so simply select 'Complete Order'
  10. You will then receive an email confirming your membership, and further advising of terms and conditions.
  11. Either take a screen shot of your completed registration or retain the email to show at the registration desk when you check in for your first race.
Please note:
  • Trial Membersips are not available to previous members
  • There is a limit of one Trial Membership per person
  • Trial Memberships are valid for 30 days
